Job Purpose

Maintain product quality standards by evaluating incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. Record and maintain records with results and data from inspection activities. Interact with Engineering and Production departments to ensure acceptable products and processes. Oversee the Quality Lab and ensure maintenance and calibration of measurement equipment. Follow recognized quality standards and propose improvements to procedures and methods.

Essential Job Functions

 Inspect and evaluate incoming materials, in-process production, and finished product through established inspections and measurements to evaluate conformance with specifications. Follow established procedures for quarantine of non-conforming materials and documenting issues, and report findings to Quality, Production, and Engineering management for disposition. 

 Program and Operate the CMM and use inspection tools and equipment to perform measurements on components. 

 Maintain records of measurement data and inspection results by completing designated reports and logs. Input data into the Quality database and designated storage locations. 

 Maintain measurement equipment and follow instructions for use. 

 Quarantine and report need for repair of any damaged or out-of-calibration equipment. Help with the management of the annual re-calibration of measurement equipment through outside services. 

 Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in the Quality Lab by following standards and procedures. Comply with all legal regulations. 

 Develop, improve, and document repeatable test methods and standards for components using both manual and automated testing equipment (e.g. CMM) 

Requirements

 Experience in CMM operation and programming 

 Knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009 standard. 

 Familiarity with 5s concepts, commitment to the organization, and cleanliness. 

 Ability to interpret and understand part prints and apply this to develop efficient measurement techniques. 

 Practical knowledge and experience in using metrology equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators, micro-vu, etc. 

 Meticulous attention to detail, particularly when setting up for part measurements and reporting data and conclusions. 

 Experience with MS Office applications 

 Essential functions include bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching above and below the shoulders, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. 

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

 AAS degree or equivalent in an applicable technical field 

 GD&T ASME Y14.5 certification at technologist level. Certification to 2009 standard preferred 

 Experience in managing and maintaining calibration schedules of laboratory metrology equipment. 

 Prior use of statistical data analysis tools in analyzing and presenting measurement data. 

 Proficient with CMM-Manager software and/or PC-DMIS 

 Experience with Prolink QC-Calc or similar SPC data collection and analysis software 

 Proficient in statistical analysis of data and use of SPC. 

 Familiarity with recognized ISO and/or other quality system standards and techniques (e.g. PPAP, 8D reports, etc) FARADYNE MOTORS, LLC October 2022 JOB POSTING
